New to Elementary at New Site?
FAQs
Below are the most commonly asked questions about New Site Elementary Ministry
Where is the Elementary area?
The Elementary department is located downstairs in our Children’s Ministry Building. From the Main Lobby you will go past the computer check in wall & down the stairs to the Elementary area.
We have wall signs & greeters with name badges that can help you find your way!
Who are the volunteers?
We have many dedicated & hard working New Site Volunteers that help in Sunday School, Elementary Children’s Church & Wednesday Night Classes. All volunteers are regular attenders or members of New Site & have passed a full state and federal background check by the New Site Church Office.
What will my child be doing?
We strive to provide age appropriate activities & bible lessons for all of our New Site Kids.
Your child will be learning about people and events in the Bible, how to apply biblical lessons to their lives, singing songs, playing games, & creating crafts to go along with their lesson.
What if my child has an allergy or special need?
If your child has an allergy or a special need that we should be aware of please let us know. We want to work with you to ensure your child’s time at New Site is enjoyable & safe.
How do I check my child in?
Your first time checking in your child(ren) you will need to fill out a family information card at either The Welcome Center in the Main Lobby.
We will collect the following information: Parent(s) names & contact information, Children’s names, birthdates, allergy information.
This information will be put into our Church database & check in system so that you can check in your child on one of the wall check in computers on your next visit.
Elementary families will be greeted by a volunteer or our Children’s Pastor in the Elementary area. Our classrooms are all clearly marked but please let a greeter know if it’s your first time so we can help you find your way and answer any questions.
What does my child need to bring?
Great Question! You may consider sending the following with your student:
- An age appropriate Bible if you have one
New Site Elementary does have Bibles in each classroom. We use the NIV Children’s Adventure Bible.
What is your health policy?
Please keep your child home if he/she has:
- Has had a fever of 100 degrees or higher within the last 24 hours
- Has vomitted or had diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- Has been in contact with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive for COVID
- Has an illness or rash such as chickenpox, measles, or hand, foot and mouth disease
We also ask that if you have discovered lice, nits, or eggs on your child’s head that they be treated & have had their hair combed and picked through before they attend.
If you need assistance or advice on dealing with lice please let us know.
Will my child receive any snacks?
The Early Childhood department does provide snacks to children while they are in class. These snacks change depending upon the class or special events.
